How to Apply For Your Drivers License:

Getting your Learner’s License:

Driving Schools in Polokwane and the country as a whole make the job of getting a driver’s license as if it is the most difficult thing to achieve, yet the truth is those who know what they are doing like HTM Driving School makes it look easy. The learner’s licence test is a written examination and is valid for 24 months. You must be at least 17 years old for code 8 and at least 18 years for code 10 and in possession of a valid identity document or passport to qualify to apply for a learner’s licence.

You must be 16 years old and above to qualify for a motorbike license with an engine capacity of less than 125cc and 18 years above for bike more than 125cc.

With a code 10 learner’s licence, you can do code 8 driver test as long as you inform them during your test booking.

Code 8 license allows you to drive all vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) of less than 3500kg. These include minis, hatchbacks, sedans, bakkies or vans, SUVs like 4×4, some minibuses and some buses.

Code 10 license allows you to drive all vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) of more than 3500kg but less than 16000kg. These include minibuses, buses, goods vehicles and all vehicles allowed in code 8.
